Just had to share....

A guy's priest, when pressed for an answer to a scientific question, basically said "well, we don't know, there's no binding teaching on this, but I guess it could be synthisized into evolution by X."

The guy offered this theory to his protestant friends.

The teens laughted.

He converted.

0.o

If I actually converted for something like that, I sure wouldn't tell anyone.....
Suddenly had a realization that a relative acted more like a child than I did when I was little....

I'd walked over to visit, and ended up playing with one of the barn cats for an hour or two.

The next day, the cat got hit on the road.

The relative claimed it was because I'd been nice to the animal and it had been following me home-- claimed this multiple times, actually.

No idea why it boiled to the top of my mind, decades later, but... I never crossed the road; if I'd had to cross the road on the way there, I wouldn't have been allowed to go alone at such a young age. We weren't even allowed to do that when the creek was near flood-level.

So either that relative had really cruddy reasoning skills... or they were hurt and blamed a little kid for a cat being a cat. (lots of fields around-- very good hunting)

People are strange.....
